A silk fukusa (gift cloth) displaying a rarely seen family crest (mon) of a knotted goose.
The white mon appears to be woven into the steel grey textile background.
The backing is original and bright red brocade. Red signifies the color of good fortune. In order to keep the fukusa covering the gift, there was a hand sewn hem around the perimeter of the fukusa. The pattern of these stitches are visible and add to the authenticity of the textile art.
